The fate of Bernard Hale from Binfield and his children is unknown. Records for Binfield were checked from 1698 to 1766 for the burial of John Hale baptised 1698 and his father Bernard, but no burials for them were found. When and where Bernard Hayel died is unknown. Bernard's wife Frances died in March 1701 (1702), possibly from a long illness arising from the birth of Robert in 1701. If this family was related to the Henley Hales Bernard and the children may have moved to Henley to live with relatives after Frances' death. A Bernard Hale appears in the Parish records of Clewer, Berkshire, in 1737, though there is no suggestion that this is Bernard from Binfield. The fate of this Hale family from Binfield remains a mystery, but there is definitely no burial for John in Binfield.
