Great Grandfather's Great Uncle.
Sir Charles Hale (My Great Grandmother's Uncle
My Great Grandfather was a sea Captain.
He and his 3 brothers owned a vessel.
He was drowned & the boat was lost.
My Grandmother's Aunt (Mrs. Boyes) kept a
private school in Portland, & taught music
& singing etc.
Her son was a Post Master.
My Grand Father Stevenson was a station manager.
My Great Grandfather's sister made the Queen's bonnets.
My Great Uncle was head gardener at
Lord Onslow's (ten under gardeners)
His wife went home to England with
Lady Onslow, in charge of her baby.
Mother's cousin had Mahogany furniture in her sitting room.
A big estate in Wokingham, called
Elmwood, was thrown into chancery
because my great grandfather couldn't
go home to claim it.
It had a beautiful avenue of laurel's
with a rustic bridge over a stream
(called "The Laurel Walk") Since sold.
Tysons are an old Cumberland family
on Mother's Father's side.
There were papers to prove his Mother's relationship to (Margaret Tyson)
Jimmy Tyson, but Grandfather's aunt
died before she could sign them.
My great grandfather had a coat-of-arms
(a hand holding something,
indicating strength) the name Hale
(and hearty).
Angus McDonald, my Mother's Cousin,
was a sea captain.
